It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.
